Breaking Down Borders
November 30, -0001 00:00 By
Prominent observers of the international system
share the idea that Brazil is a country of opportunities and a lot of
potential. However, on many occasions, this potential is overcome by reality,
that brings political instability and recurring economic crisis, including
hyperinflation, which has continually limited the trajectory of national growth
as the decades have gone by.
Even though this scenario is given as being
far-reaching, one of Brazil’s greatest assets is our domestic market known for
its immenseness, which adds up to a comfortable situation with little risk and stimulus
to take on challenges. As domestic purchasing capacity or demand can be
satisfied almost entirely by the economic activity carried out in the national
territory, many companies do not see the need to sell their products and
services outside of Brazil.
Despite the strategic importance of the
domestic market, in a interdependent world, the borders of a Nation-State are diluted
in favor of competition. Internationalization today, is more than a trend, rather
it is a demand for any company that wants to be competitive and to have a
greater insertion of its products and services in the global marketplace; also
having a positive impact on the domestic market.
Independent of the domestic scenario, a
company internationalizing signifies the possibility for the expansion of its
business as an alternative to only Brazilian growth. Accessing the
international market represents managing new challenges that will allow for new
solutions, with the modernization of a company strengthening it in terms of
expertise and potential. Continuing with this, with internationalization, a
company is able to gain a reduction in its tax burden, which translates directly
into a greater receipt of foreign exchange thanks to the generation of larger
revenues and profits.
Immersed in this proposal to break down borders,
